"It is more than once that different countries, and Ukraine is no exception, got convinced that such a subject as "a bloc of political parties" is the deceit of electors", - stated Oleksandr Lavrynovych, First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, in the interview to the "Interfaks-Ukraina" news agency.
He believes that the possibility of such deceit will be considerably narrowed "in case the phrase "electoral blocs" is excluded from the legislation".
He substantiated his point of view by the fact that "in case of holding of the parliamentary elections, a great number of People´s Deputies is elected", however, if the citizens vote for a nominal bloc, "they can vote only for the name of the politician who called the bloc under his name, thus upholding only a single candidate, as during the presidential elections".
"One can recall the blocs at The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine since 1991 in order to get reassured that it is a one-time means of getting into the Parliament, bearing no responsibility for one´s actions", - stated the First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. "If a political party is elected, its representatives bear individual responsibility before their electors till the next elections. It is a sole instrument of political responsibility and political assessment".
"If a party received its 30-40 per cent of votes, if it implements its action plan, and the citizens testify to that fact, then this party further receives 38-52 per cent. Otherwise, it may get 15-17 per cent", - stated the First Vice-Chairman and declared "elections appraise the activity of politicians".
